St. John’s, NL (December 16, 2024) – Cox & Palmer and Benson Buffett are pleased to announce that, effective 1 February 2025, they will join forces, creating one of the largest full-service law firms in Newfoundland & Labrador. This partnership will combine the strengths of two well-established firms, further enhancing their ability to provide exceptional legal services throughout the province and across Atlantic Canada.

Benson Buffett, based in St. John’s, was established in 1980 and is one of the largest independent law firms in Newfoundland & Labrador, with a strong focus on business and civil litigation.

Cox & Palmer is a leading full-service Atlantic Canadian law firm with offices across four provinces, and roots in St. John’s dating back to the 1950’s.

Operating under the Cox & Palmer name, the combined firm will have over 40 lawyers, making it one of the largest law firms in the province. This merger strengthens the firm’s position in the marketplace and provides clients with access to a broader range of expertise and resources.
