Accounting Assistant
Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, administrative and personnel services and to perform other related duties as required, based on the organization’s operational needs
Qualifications & Experience:
Specifically, you will be responsible for the following:
- Reconciling, balancing, and processing deposits
- Preparing invoices and reports as necessary for Accounts Receivables
- Following up for prompt payment and problem resolution on outstanding invoices
- Accounts payable processing and cheque preparation
- Analyzing and reconciling GL accounts
- Serve as backup for other accounting department tasks
- Various administration duties as required
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Post-secondary education in accounting, or equivalent experience
- Entry position with training, however, two to three years of experience in an accounts payable/accounts receivable role is favourable
- Demonstrated fluency with major accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- High degree of accuracy to attention and detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with the ability to take initiative and be adaptable to change

- The individual must maintain strict confidentiality in performing the Accounting Assistant role
